The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Sub-Saharan Africa Fellowships aims to promote and encourage young African women in science. This program identifies and rewards talented young female scientists in the field of Life Sciences (such as biology, biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, physiology, neurosciences, biotechnologies, ecology and ethology) as well as Physical Sciences (such as physics, chemistry, petroleum engineering, mathematics, engineering sciences, information sciences, and earth and universe sciences).

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must meet the following general criteria:

  • Pursuing studies leading to a Ph D degree or having obtained a Ph D degree in the following scientific fields: formal sciences, life sciences, environmental sciences, physical sciences, engineering and technological sciences
  • Being from one of the 48 countries of the programme
  • Enrolled in a doctoral Institution and/or working in a research Laboratory/University or Institution out of the 48 countries

SCHOLARSHIP VALUE: €10,000€ for doctorates & €15,000 for post-doctorates

NO OF AWARDS: 15 doctorates and 5 post-doctorates
