We seek a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to perform laboratory and numerical studies concerning the fate of sediments released into open coastal waters. The project is motivated by land reclamation and dredging operations, both of which have the potential to cause significant pollution to Singapore’s marine waters.The Postdoctoral Associate will reside primarily in Singapore, working with Dr Eric Adams (MIT Dept. Civil and Environmental Engineering), Prof Adrian Law (NTU School of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Singapore), and their graduate students and collaborators.
REQUIREMENTS:
An earned PhD in environmental fluid mechanics or equivalent discipline.
•General knowledge of water quality issues.
•Hands-on experience with laboratory measurement techniques such as PIV, LDA, LIF.
•Mathematical skills to analyse collected data.
•Ability to run and modify 3D numerical models of pollutant transport and fate.
•Strong English communication skills (written and oral).
•Ability to work well both independently and in a group.
