The PhD program aims to provide PhD students with advanced training in the fields of production, processing, quality control and safety of raw materials and of foods.

REQUIREMENTS:

Italian second level degree (laurea specialistica, under D.M. 509/99 or laurea magistrale, under D.M. 207/04) or Italian degree obtained prior to D.M. 13 509/99 or equivalent qualification obtained abroad.

TASK DETAILS:

Plant and animal production, including growing techniques, cattle breeding, pest control are the main topic of the curriculum of “Science, Technology, and Biotechnology in Agriculture”. Consumer and environment respect along with high quality production and food industry needs are the main concerns of these topics. The new applications of molecular genetics in agriculture are also extensively studied.Process and product innovation are the main topics of the curriculum “Food Science, Technology, and Biotechnology”. Food technology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology are the main fields involved in these topics. Raw material quality and its attitude to processing is also matter of concern, as well as innovative food packaging technologies.

SCHOLARSHIP VALUE:

The annual amount of a study scholarship is € 13,638.48 (barring subsequent regulatory amendments) and is subject to the I.N.P.S. social security contribution under the separate management fund.
